New type of #scam involving mobile payment services like JazzCash and EasyPaisa, which are popular in Pakistan. This scam involves a customer making a payment to a shopkeeper's CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number instead of directly to their mobile account. Since CNIC-based payments are refundable, the scammer can later withdraw the payment request, leaving the shopkeeper without the money.

Here are some tips to protect yourself from this scam:

#VerifyPaymentMethod:

Always ensure that the payment is made directly to your JazzCash or EasyPaisa account, not to your CNIC.

#CheckYourAccount:

Immediately verify the payment in your mobile account. Do not rely solely on SMS confirmations, as these can be spoofed.

#EducateYourStaff:

If you have employees, make sure they are aware of this scam and know how to verify payments properly.

#CustomerAwareness:

Inform regular customers about this scam to prevent them from falling victim to it.

#ReportSuspiciousActivity:

If you encounter such a scam, report it immediately to the respective service provider (JazzCash or EasyPaisa) and to Cyber Crime Wing, FIA

#KeepRecords:

Maintain a record of all transactions, including the time, amount, and sender's details, for future reference.

#UseSecureMethods:

Encourage customers to use secure and direct methods of payment, such as QR codes, which are less prone to such frauds.

Staying vigilant and informed about the latest scams is crucial in the digital age, especially for businesses that frequently use mobile financial services.
